I'm honestly really stoked to see federated Groups take shape in #Bonfire.
The potential is absolutely enormous, and could provide a streamlined and comprehensive way for group interactions to be viable for more platforms in the network.

i see. Similar to GoToSocial, users can reply or like, etc but it just gets dropped when it hits the original instance.

Oooh. It seems to affect being able to mention people, at least for profiles on the same account @[email protected]
This profile is public and is set to the server's default - to federate. It should be visible to other instances and I should be able to refer to @[email protected]
This profile has been set to NOT federate out. So what happens when I mention someone on the fediverse? @[email protected]
@test464 Maybe it has to be fully public, including quote constraints.
Quoting a public, allowed post. Should not require approval, but my Mastodon account should alert me someone quoted it.
