#AskFedi do you have recommendations for an external hard drive that would be good to stock #Jellyfin media on?

Something fast and not too expensive? (say, less than 200 Euros). 1 Terabyte of storage is more than enough (my current library is about 250 GB)...

I cannot use any of my current drives because they are all encrypted and #Jellyfin needs something with read access (sans password) for every folder in the path. So I'm going for a dedicated external drive.

I would really appreciate your advice! (and heads-up: I'm leaving home soon to pick up my little one from pre-school so I may take a while to reply) 😅

Phase 4: jailbreak my Kindle and liberate my eBook collection

Looks like I will be busy through the end of 2026 😅

Good morning Fedi friends!

A new #GoToSocial version is out and I'll be updating (via #YunoHost) so I can use it.

I typically refrain from updating too quickly but I'm experiencing weird bugs in Ivory for iOS (cannot like posts) so I'm curious to see if anything improves.

Please wish me luck!!!

Edit/update: the warnings in YunoHost make me a little scared. REALLY WISH ME LUCK PLEASE!

a screenshot of the warnings that appear when you click on "update" GoToSocial in the YunoHost dashboard. The warning reads: GoToSocial takes some time (from some seconds to some minutes) after each version upgrades to perform various things, like database migration or optimizations.
If your instance is not accessible, please be patient and do not restart it manually at the risk of breaking everything!

This update will render your instance unavailable from dozens of minutes to hours, maybe days, depending on its size and the resources of your server.
Please plan your upgrade accordingly, by running it just before going to sleep, for example.
